The nervous surprise
They have been in love for as long as they can remember. Every time they see each other their love grows stronger. When he goes off to war her stomach drops. She worries about him every day but she keeps herself busy with work and various hobbies.
One afternoon he was due home. She was so excited, he’s been departed for 6 months. She’s waiting at the airport. All of the other soldiers come off the plane. Her eyes are searching the crowd. She can’t see him. She starts to worry. She searches her pockets for her phone and realizes that in her rush of excitement she left it in the car.
She waits a little longer. The crowd becomes smaller and smaller and her worries grow larger and larger.
She decides to go to her car to get her phone. Tears begin rolling down her face. Where could he be?
She arrives close to her car and notices someone in uniform. She can’t tell who it is because she is facing his back. She walks cautiously closer to the car. He turns around. It’s really him. She starts running towards him her heart pounding.
He stops her in her tracks, gets down on one knee. And from that day forward she knows that she has everything she’s ever wanted and much, much more.
